Flashes of Hope organizes monthly photo shoots at Inova Fairfax Hospital and Childrens’ Hospital outpatient clinic for families dealing with pediatric cancer. Commercial photographers and professional makeup stylists volunteer their services so that each family receives a portfolio and CD of images free of charge.
Service Co-Coordinators Needed for Flashes of Hope Project
Flashes of Hope Coordinators reach out to contacts at the hospitals, our list of professional photographers, and our list of professional make up artists to set the dates of the shoots. We never have a problem coming up with a talented team! Shoots typically last about 3 hours. Paperwork is done on an iPad and is completed at the shoot. Distribution of the photos is through Flashes of Hope headquarters in Cleveland.
If you are interested in volunteering to become a Co-Coordinator, please email us.
We found out about your organization while we were in the hospital. Your beautiful pictures line the walls of the pediatric oncology unit. I happened to take Reed to the clinic on a day you were there. A wonderful woman pampered me by doing my makeup. There is no chance for pampering during his treatment. When the pictures came back I could not believe how many great shots there were and that we got the DVD also! Thank you for all you do.
